Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrive on time, dress in appropriate attire.
  • Have knowledge of the sport you are officiating.
  • Enforce all facility and intramural policies, rules and regulations.
  • Enforce the rules of the sport in a professional manner.
  • Assist with the set-up and tear-down of fields/courts.
  • Minimize and eliminate hazardous situations.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Continue to uphold and maintain a positive image of the Intramural Program.
  • Clock in and out of all shifts.
  • Attend all mandatory Staff Meetings and Sport Official Training sessions.
  • Follow all established policies regarding substitutes.
  • Complete duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Intramural Sports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Available to work nights (M-Th) and some weekends
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Dependable
  • Sport rule knowledge preferred but not required - training and rule knowledge will be provided.
  • A thorough understanding of the importance of “Little Bob Way”
  • Experience playing or participating in Intramural or Club Sport Programs.

Applicants must be work study undergraduate students or current grad. students at the University of Delaware. Work study eligibility can be found here.
