Student Employment: Motion Analysis Graduate Research Assistant

Department: Physical Therapy (School of Health Sciences)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director and users of the Laboratory in the collection, processing, and analysis of data obtained using the software and hardware located in the Motion Analysis Laboratory.
  •  Additional duties include but are not limited to:
    • the maintenance of hardware and sensors used in data collection
    • general laboratory cleanup
    • assist the Director with demonstrations during open houses and other public relations events
    • assist the Director with the fabrication of devices used in various experiments conducted in the laboratory
    • preparation of multimedia material used for the dissemination of the results of experiments
    • preparation of manuscripts and abstracts for publication and presentation at national meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • An interest in working in the field of biomechanics
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
Hours of Position:
  • 10 hours per week. The daily work schedule is flexible to fit the student’s academic schedule. At least 4 of the 10 hours must be fulfilled when the Director is physically present in the laboratory.
  • Two positions available, 150 hours of work for one 3 credit tuition waiver each
