Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences (SHS) invites applications for a Full-Time Assistant Clinical Professor & Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in Occupational Therapy. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) works closely with the Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) to ensure program compliance with fieldwork requirements as stated in the 2023 ACOTE Standards C.1.0. The AFWC collaborates with the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) and Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program Directors, faculty, and fieldwork sites/fieldwork educators to ensure integration of didactic and fieldwork education. The AFWC will have teaching and advising duties, service, and responsibilities relative to the implementation of strategic initiatives of the OT Department. • Contribute to the diversity, equity and inclusive excellence of academic community
• Teaching occupational therapy-related courses assigned by department chair and/or program directors
• Ensure timely fieldwork placement of students in Level I and Level II fieldwork sites.
• Manage fieldwork data within fieldwork data management systems (e.g. EXXAT, Formstack)
• Establish and maintain fieldwork agreements within designated regions in accordance with all university policies and Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) requirements.   
• Monitor compliance with site requirements, maintenance of site data.
• Collaborate with fieldwork educators
• Communicate with the student and fieldwork educator and monitor student progress and performance during Fieldwork Level II 
• Contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of supervision and provide resources for enhancing supervision of fieldwork students 
• Contribute to program assessment/evaluation related to the fieldwork components of the curriculum and identify areas for further program development 
• Contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives of the department 
• Advise and mentor students prior to and during fieldwork to enhance their performance and experience 
• Support fieldwork educators in their supervisory role to enhance students’ fieldwork performance and experience 
• Follow established protocols for providing timely feedback, academic advising and assessment of student learning
• Provide service to the Department, SHS, QU, and the community.   
• Perform any other related duties assigned by department chair and the dean at SHS.

• Earned post-professional doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by ACOTE. 

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator must have

• Occupational therapy licensure (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Connecticut
• Active National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) registration as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR)
• Minimum of 3 years of documented clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
• Experience in occupational therapy clinical practice , working inter-professionally, and supervising occupational therapy students
• Evidence in strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, and time management skills
• Proficient computer skills, including the use of database systems
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Documented specialized experience in physical rehabilitation of adult or older adults
• Teaching experience at the post-baccalaureate or graduate levels in occupational therapy education. 
• Knowledge of ACOTE accreditation standards
• Volunteer leadership service relevant to the field of occupational therapy
