Goodman Community Center has served a diverse group of neighbors and families for 70 years. Our campus is located in the Schenk-Atwood neighborhood and most of the individuals we serve are North or East-side of Madison residents. Goodman reaches over 30,000 people annually through programming for children/youth ages 3 to 18, food pantry and meal services, a fitness center and exercise classes, community meeting spaces, and programming for older adults. Goodman’s mission is to strengthen lives and secure futures. Qualifications: |
- No formal background in education or tutoring required - training and ongoing support is provided - Work study required. - Must be open to working with elementary youth individually and in small groups - Background check free of convictions for serious offenses, as required by Goodman Community Center |
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: |
- Interest in supporting students in literacy; specifically reading decoding strategies and fluency skills |
Position Summary/Job Duties: |
In partnership with other trained tutors, use provided tools and activities to tutor elementary students in literacy |
