A bit about the role 

In this role you will coordinate and maintain a range of key fleet management functions across Council’s fleet of vehicles and plant items.

As well as coordinate acquisition and disposal activities of all vehicle and plant items in accordance with established policies and systems.

What you’ll deliver

  • Support the management of Council’s vehicles, major and minor plant items and their usage, service, cleaning and maintenance needs.
  • Prepare and develop quotation specifications for vehicle and plant purchases
  • Coordinate all aspects of fleet operations, including acquisitions, disposals, maintenance, and handovers.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records and systems, ensuring data integrity across financial, GPS, and booking platforms.
  • Lead Fleet Governance Panel meetings and ensure timely follow-up on actions and agenda items.
  • Analyse fleet data, including audits of fuel and toll usage, and report on capital projects and asset performance.
  • Provide technical advice and responsive support to internal customers, prioritising safety, compliance, and service quality.

What you’ll bring

  • Fleet management experience involving a large fleet, including cars, trucks, plant, and equipment, is essential.
  • Previous experience using Technology One is preferred
  • Ability to assess and extract data from various fleet and support systems.
  • Experience with fleet-related legislation is preferred (Desirable)
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
