A bit about the role
An exciting and challenging role that offers you something different every single day. Our City Compliance team are an innovative group of professionals that strive to set new standards. This challenging and rewarding role is on the frontline of services offered by Council to the local community with a broad spectrum of responsibilities.
This role sits within the Connected Communities Department which is part of the Community Life Division.
What you’ll deliver
- Develop Investigation skills and apply the learning to investigate dog attacks, and other matters under the Domestic Animals Act 1994.
- Develop knowledge, understanding and application of the Casey Community Local Law 2023.
- Learn how to prepare briefs of evidence and gain experience of presenting evidence at Magistrates Court as part of a prosecution.
- Issue infringement notices for non-compliance with legislation or Local Laws.
- Gain experience handling animals such as dogs, cats and livestock whilst contributing to Councils animal management service.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and engage with the community.

- Ability to review and comprehend reports and information.
- Willingness to undertake a structured development program which may include undertaking a recognised qualification.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
