A bit about the role
We’re looking for a dynamic and people-focused Coordinator to lead our Business Support team within the Creative Communities department.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll guide a small, dedicated team to deliver high-quality support across key functions, from library services, performing and visual arts through to civic and community events. You’ll play a central role in implementing cultural and operational change, supporting projects, and collaborating across the department to help bring initiatives to life.

What you’ll deliver
- Work collaboratively with the Creative Communities leadership team to co-design and implement initiatives that improve culture and collaboration across the broader department.
- Monitor and manage the overall performance of the business support team and ensure they are up to date on new policies, procedures, technology and systems.
- Ensure that business support is delivered at a high level for library facility administration and projects; along with support for the Civic Events team in delivering citizenship ceremonies.
- Facilitate recruitment, support onboarding processes and on-going training and self development opportunities to create positive staff experiences.
- Email/calendar management and administrative support for Manager Creative Communities as required.
- Coordination and management of internal and external stakeholder meetings, workshops, conferences, training, and events.
- Support business planning, reporting and co-ordination of corporate deadlines.
- Work in collaboration with teams across the department and broader organisation on various initiatives and projects to achieve key deliverables.
What you’ll bring
- High level administrative and project support experience in a complex organisation.
- Experience in delivering strategic change programs at a department level.
- Experience in the development of high-level reports and the ability to analyse data effectively
- Previous experience leading teams to deliver high quality business and project outcomes.
- Experience in high level stakeholder management with a high level of competency in communication.
- A high level of integrity when working with sensitive information.
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with the suite of Office 365 applications.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive mindset.
