A bit about the role
Join a passionate Health, Safety and Wellbeing team committed to creating a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace for all. As Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll partner with leaders across Council to embed a strong safety culture, deliver practical OHS solutions, and help ensure everyone goes home safe, every day. From leading risk assessments and audits to rolling out impactful training and wellbeing initiatives, this is your chance to make a real difference in one of Victoria’s fastest-growing municipalities.
What you’ll deliver
- Expert advice and practical support to leaders and teams to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Delivery and continuous improvement of OHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Timely investigation and reporting of incidents, hazards, and compliance breaches.
- Comprehensive risk assessments, audits, and emergency management planning.
- High-quality training and resources to build health, safety, and wellbeing capability across the organisation.
What you’ll bring
- A relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of OHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to identify practical, innovative solutions to manage safety risks.
- Experience delivering training and building OHS capability across diverse teams.
- A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel across worksites as needed.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Psychometric Testing.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
