A bit about the role

The Team Leader Business Improvement will lead the Business Improvement team, fostering a high performing and collaborative work culture to drive and embed improvement initiatives across the organisation to enable the efficient delivery of our organisational strategy and community outcomes. 

You will oversee the development, application and embedding of a strategic improvement methodology and prioritisation approach that improves the efficiency and effectiveness of processes at the City of Casey.

What you’ll deliver

  • Coordinate and manage business improvement initiatives across the organisation, including working with steering committees and all key stakeholders, monitoring of project progress against milestones, compiling reports and managing project risks.
  • Lead a high performing team by clearly defining role expectations, monitoring performance, coaching, providing timely and constructive feedback and facilitating employee development. 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic process improvement initiatives, in line with the organisation’s strategic direction.
  • Build organisational capability in applying the strategic improvement methodology, including its associated tools and techniques.
  • Facilitate strategic workshops, engagement initiatives both internal and external to the Council for the purpose of project or change management related to process activity

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Business or a related discipline and/or significant relevant work experience.
  • Experience in process improvement, preferably Lean.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a systems thinking approach.
  • Experience leading change programs and building capability across a large organisation.
  • Expertise in developing and applying process improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience facilitating groups in a learning environment.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
