A bit about the role

Champion community engagement by leading programs, events, and initiatives that connect people with nature and each other at Wilson Botanic Park Berwick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership experience in customer-facing environments, a flair for community development, and a love for nature and public spaces.

What you’ll deliver

  • Oversee daily operations of the Visitor Centre and hireable spaces at Wilson Botanic Park, ensuring smooth delivery of services, safety, financial tasks and maintenance.
  • Lead and support a team of Visitor Services Officers and volunteers, fostering professional growth and collaborative service delivery.
  • Plan and deliver engaging community programs, educational activities, and events in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote the park through effective communication channels, including print and digital media, to enhance public awareness and engagement.

Provide high-level administrative and project support to the Coordinator, ensuring efficient resource planning and issue management.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Community Development or Education.
  • Proven experience leading a small team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders to deliver community-focused programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging educational programs.
  • Experience utilising the Momentus Booking platform an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs
  • A desire to continually review and improve process policy and procedures
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
