A bit about the role
Develop and manage planning projects, planning proposals and amendments to the Casey Planning Scheme, ensuring alignment with Victoria's planning objectives and responsiveness to evolving circumstances.
This role will contribute to the development and refinement of policies that promote orderly and sustainable land use and development within the City of Casey.
- Develop land use and development strategies and projects to address complex planning issues.
- Assess and manage various planning scheme amendments and development plans, represent Council at panels, tribunals, and other forums.
- Contribute to the monitoring, maintenance, and reform of the Casey Planning Scheme.
- Liaise with government agencies, community organisations, and stakeholders regarding land use planning, development issues, and strategic projects.
- Facilitate community engagement activities to gather input and feedback.
- Prepare briefs and manage external consultants for strategic planning and legal matters.
- Provide technical support to team members and departmental staff on strategic and statutory planning issues.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Studies or Urban Geography or related field.
- Experience as a Town Planner, including some local government experience would be considered an advantage.
- Experience in project management, strategy development, and planning scheme amendments.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
