A bit about the role

Join our high-performing Revenue and Rating team as a Rates Project Officer, where you'll play a vital role in delivering a range of projects and system improvements. You’ll support system updates, stakeholder engagement, lead policy reviews, and help improve data accuracy and communication across key rates-related initiatives.

What you’ll deliver

  • Support the implementation of a range of Revenue and Rating Projects including policy reviews and system improvements.
  • Assist with implementing and testing system updates to ensure accurate levy processing, reporting, and compliance with ESVF requirements.
  • Respond to complex customer enquiries about levies, rebates, and eligibility with professionalism and clarity.
  • Contribute to related rates projects including automation, OneCouncil, and third-party integrations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate process improvement workshops, and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Maintain website content and support communication plans to enhance customer understanding and engagement.
  • Provide project administration support, including document management, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualification in business, project management, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience in Local Government rates, revenue, property, valuations, and customer service.
  • Good understanding of Local Government legislation relating to rates and revenue functions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills across diverse groups.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with skills in advocacy, negotiation, and conflict management to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
