About the Role
As Senior Recreation and Open Space Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Casey’s open space and recreation network. You will lead and contribute to strategic planning projects that deliver high‑quality parks, playgrounds, trails, sports facilities and public spaces
What You’ll deliver
- Lead, deliver and review strategic plans, land use plans, capital works and grants.
- Assess and provide expert input into internal planning referrals for growth and infill developments.
- Manage consultants, stakeholders and internal departments.
- Engage meaningfully with the community and key stakeholders on planning projects.
- Provide expert advice on open space, sport and recreation needs to support informed decision‑making.
- Maintain up‑to‑date planning data, trends and statistics.
- Prepare Committee and Council reports with recommendations.
- Deliver projects on time, on budget and to standard.
- Monitor performance, risks and project issues.
- Represent Council at meetings and official functions.
What You’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in recreation and/or open space planning, or relevant experience working in a related discipline or industry.
- Experience in project and stakeholder management
- Experience within the Sport, Recreation, Open Space or Planning industry
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
