We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic Early Childhood Teachers (ECT) for our Sessional Kindergarten programs held at Council’s Early Years Hubs in Bayswater and Wantirna South. 

The ECT is required to work collaboratively across the Hubs team, to provide high quality early childhood education and care, meeting the individual needs and interests of children and families. The key capabilities for this role include: Customer Focus, Instils Trust, Collaborates, Demonstrates Self-Awareness, Action Oriented, Situational Adaptability, Ensures Accountability, Interpersonal Savvy.

Teachers and Educators are employed across both Knox Early Years Hubs and enjoy the support of a passionate and positive leadership and broader Hubs team located at each site.

Our Sessional Kindergarten staff are employed under the Early Education Employees Agreement 2020 (‘EEEA 2020’) in line with the Victorian School Term dates.

The successful applicant will possess appropriate qualifications, excellent communication skills, proven customer service skills, and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teachers.

This is a EEEA ECT 2.1 – 3.6 classified role, remuneration will be $77,998 to $116,906 based on experience (pro rata for part time), plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated ability to actively support the implementation and evaluation of an inclusive child-centred play based program that support children’s strengths, interests and cultural background.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve high quality outcomes for children and families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations and all other relevant legislation and regulations applicable to the role.
  • Demonstrated time management and computer skills including Microsoft Office including email, and other various platforms.
