Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, team-oriented person to step into the role of Senior Traffic Engineer with our Traffic and Transport Team.
As the new Senior Traffic Engineer (reporting directly to the Coordinator Traffic and Transportation), you will make a difference daily by providing an efficient and effective engineering service in the areas of customer service, engineering investigation, focusing on traffic and transport issues and project management. You will work collaboratively with other organisational teams to develop a strong team-based approach to the delivery of workloads across the department. This is a senior technical specialist role where your knowledge and skill will be highly regarded by the team and the organisation. You will mentor, guide and develop fellow engineers and team members. If you have leadership ambitions, this role is on the pathway to achieving that aspiration.
This is a full-time permanent role based at the Civic Centre, and we can offer hybrid working arrangements and flexible work options for the right candidate.
This is a Band 7 classified role, remuneration will be $107,507 - $120,572 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Specialist knowledge or experience in traffic engineering principles and practices
- Abilities to mentor, guide and develop fellow engineers and team members
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and good customer relationship skills
- Ability to analyse problems and make decisions on a day-to-day basis
- The ability to manage projects including planning, budgeting, evaluation and reporting within a set time frame
- Personal Values and Behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council
- Computer literate and good skills with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to effectively manage time and plan and schedule work
