About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Services Officer to join the Youth Services team. In this new position of Youth Services Officer you will make a difference daily by assisting in the delivery of programs and services to young people, parents and caregivers, and service providers. This new role will also assist in the activation of the Knox Youth Hive within the Knox Library and will also support the promotion and awareness of our programs and services through a variety of communication channels including social media. You will report directly to the Coordinator Youth Services and work collaboratively with the team, across Council and with the community. 

This is a full-time permanent role based at Wantirna South. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.

This is a Band 5 classified role. Remuneration will be $78,036.84 to $90,793.94 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Administrative, analytical and conceptual skills and experience in applying them in service planning and delivery settings. 
  • A competency in computer data base systems (Better Impact, Office 365 and Power BI desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. 
  • Strong focus on customer service. 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work without supervision and as part of a team across a range of service areas. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and resilient, particularly when faced with challenges, uncertainty, complexity or change. 
  • Degree of tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Work, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field. 
  • Professional experience within the youth services sector.
