About the role
We are searching for a superstar to join Knox's Traffic and Transport team in the role of Sustainable Transport Planner. This is a truly influential position where you can make a tangible difference to the lives of people in our community. You will be an engaging communicator, motivated and driven innovator, and team-oriented transport specialist. Your tertiary qualifications will be in the urban planning, strategic planning, engineering, or related fields. As the Sustainable Transport Planner, you will provide strategic transport advice into the planning and implementation of the Knox sustainable transport network and guide the development and implementation of transport strategies, projects and initiatives which support Council’s transport goals and reflect the current and future needs of the community.
The Traffic and Transport team has several key strategic plans being redeveloped at present and this position is responsible for drafting the plans, participating in liaison with senior officers and Councillors and consulting with internal and external groups about the plans. This role is a critical conduit between Council and external peers such as the Department of Transport and Planning regarding sustainable transport planning matters. The person in this role also attends external meetings, sometimes out of normal hours, as a representative of Council. This opportunity has come about due to the incumbent office being promoted within the organisation. Therefore, their mentorship will be available to the successful candidate.
This is a full-time permanent role based at our Civic Centre. We support flexible and hybrid working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 7 classified role. Remuneration will be $107,507 to $120,572 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
