Your new role  

Are you ready to drive change at Knox? We have an exciting opportunity for an Change Specialist to join and support our Strategy and Transformation Team. The role is critical for Knox to deliver on its key strategic priorities and be a continually improving customer centric organisation. This role will provide dedicated change support to complex strategic initiatives such as a new Data Strategy, ERP and L&D framework project, among others.

This is a full time or part time (4 days) role working at the Knox Civic Centre, however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate. This is a Band 7 classified role, remuneration will be $104,630.20 - $117,345.47 (pro-rata part time) (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. The role will be a 13 month contract to cover a period of maternity leave.  

As an effective Change Specialist, you will need to pride yourself on your engagement and communication style and will have a passion for driving organisational change. You will support the high-level strategic thinking, foresight and decision-making required to implement change management and drive initiative outcomes. You will build strong client partnerships across the organisation, collaborate and be a trusted and valued advisor. Specifically, the role will engage teams within the organisation and drive improvements to processes, data, systems and ways of working. You will use your experience in building change readiness, change management tactics, analysis and change adoption to lead and implement change.  

Please note that this role focuses on people/process change and not technical change management.     

What you will need to thrive 

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Substantial practical experience in supporting large scale complex change management projects  
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline 
  • Ability to fulfil a strategic change implementation role that initiates, supports and creates a difference and enhances the organisation’s capacity to improve performance, and embrace change. 
  • Experience in using Prosci/ADKAR methodologies is preferred but not essential. 
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high quality reports and discussion papers, make formal presentations and to represent Council in professional & community forums. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate workshops, coach and advise stakeholders and gather information from difficult stakeholders. 
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organisation 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. 
  • Knowledge of project management processes.
