Are you an experienced civil engineer ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Join Knox City Council as our new Team Leader – Construction Engineering, where you’ll lead a team of Project Engineers in delivering essential civil infrastructure projects that make a real difference in our community.

From roads and footpaths to bridges and carparks, you’ll play a vital role in planning and delivering our capital works program – ensuring infrastructure is built to last and serves the community effectively.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Operations Centre in Knoxfield. We offer a range of flexible work options to support your work-life balance.

This is a Band 7 classified role. Remuneration will be $107,507 to $120,572 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. 

What you will bring to this role  

The key selection criteria for this role are: 

  • Substantial experience in civil engineering, project and contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of local government operations and road management legislation.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in contract development and contractor management.
  • A sound understanding of asset management principles.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to motivate and engage your team.
