About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Producer to join our Digital Team in Customer and Communications. In this role, you’ll help shape how our community engages with Council online by keeping our website accurate, up-to-date and accessible, and by creating content that helps customers complete tasks and find the information they need.
As our new Digital Content Producer, you’ll design and produce content for the website, triage and manage day-to-day content requests, and work proactively with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organisation. You’ll advocate for best practice writing for the web, accessibility, usability and SEO, and contribute to continuous improvement projects aligned with our Digital Roadmap.
You’ll also conduct user research and journey mapping, use analytics to understand customer behaviour, and help uplift capability across the organisation by educating and guiding content authors. This role reports to the Senior Content Producer and works closely with teams in Digital, Communications, Customer Service, Customer Experience, IT and Governance.
This is a full-time permanent role based at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna South. We support flexible and hybrid working arrangements while ensuring operational needs are met.
This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $98,353.35 to $107,416.64 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- Demonstrated experience designing, writing, editing, publishing and evaluating content for websites and/or intranets.
- Experience writing for digital channels using a content design approach, including plain English, accessibility and SEO.
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, usable content.
- Knowledge of web usability and accessibility standards (WCAG) and an understanding of user needs in digital environments.
- Experience using customer research, data and analytics to inform content decisions and measure effectiveness.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance day-to-day requests and longer-term improvement work.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, content design, UX, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience using Drupal, SharePoint and/or Google Analytics is desirable but not essential.
