Systems Administrator
This position will be located in Lismore, NSW
Full-time, permanent position. Commencing in April 2025.

Position Purpose:
To provide operational management and support for the existing network, systems & software applications of the DLCSL Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Cloud environments.
As Systems Administrator this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life.
Work Requirements:
- A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment.
- A National Police Check, or ability to obtain if the successful candidate.
- Requirement to travel between locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related experience.
- Relevant industry certifications and experience, with proven knowledge of server and network environments.
Work Experience:
- Five or more years of solid background experience in TCP/IP networking.
- Proven experience in a Systems Administration or similar role.
Key Capabilities:
- Strong knowledge of various server operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and related services.
- Proficiency in managing, administering and configuring networking devices (i.e. Routers, switches and firewalls), security protocols, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting operational networks including fault finding, problem, identification, analysis and resolution.
- Experience in managing and doing server administration for Linux and Microsoft network technologies and server systems.
- Proficiency in user account and access management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with IT project management and participation.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Methodical and disciplined approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with various stakeholders.
