Technical Field Officer
This position can be located at Lismore, NSW; or Coffs Harbour, NSW
Full-time, permanent position. Commencing in April 2025.

Position Purpose:
The Technical Field Officer is responsible for maintaining all aspects of IT hardware and infrastructure within the school. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring the availability of IT resources, managing equipment inventory, and providing technical support when required.
As Technical Field Officer, this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life.
Work Requirements:
- A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment.
- A National Police Check, or ability to obtain if the successful candidate.
- Requirement to travel between locations.
Qualifications:
- Relevant industry certifications and, or experience, with proven knowledge of LAN network environments.
Work Experience:
- Proven experience in supporting operational networks including fault finding, problem, identification, analysis and resolution.
Key Capabilities:
- Good understanding of IT hardware and associated Servers, Switches, UPS, WAPS, Security Systems, CCTV, PA, Bells, Alarms, Electronic Door Access, Projection and VC hardware, Audio Visual Equipment, VOiP Phones, Comms Cabinets and Server Racks, Optic Fibre and Ethernet cabling.
- Operational knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of IT service management tools (e.g., Freshservice).
