Position Summary: Perform receptionist and front desk duties while displaying excellent customer service on behalf of the Honors Program at Johnson County Community College (JCCC).This position is only open to current JCCC students in the Honors Program. Activities will include marketing as well as event planning, and recruitment (including social media) to honors peers.
Required Qualifications:
- Student in good standing in the JCCC Honors Program with at least one semester in two honors courses.
- Knowledge of the Honors Program and Community Based Learning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors entering the building, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
- Greet all visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer questions regarding the Honors Program and its requirements in a clear and knowledgeable manner. Forward complex inquiries to the appropriate parties for response.
- Address any concerns or complaints in a calm and professional manner, escalating issues as needed.
- Provide general office support to staff across the department, assisting with clerical duties, data entry, and related tasks.
- Answer incoming calls and take messages, directing callers to the appropriate parties as necessary.
- Accept deliveries and maintain a neat and orderly front desk area. Sort and distribute mail and file documents according to established procedures.
- Develop and maintain social media pages hosted by the Honors Program. Post information, share events, and respond to questions and inquiries received through social media accounts.
- Represent the Honors Program at JCCC events and other functions. Provide information and answer questions.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the Little Free Library of books. Monitor the book inventory and remove damaged books. Encourage people to donate books or take them for themselves.
- Oversee the Honors Program study hours, assisting students with resources and questions as they arise.
- Brainstorm and contribute ideas to the calendar of social activities organized for Honors students.
