Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership and Faculty Development
• Lead the creation of the annual class schedule by consulting on curriculum changes and assigning faculty appropriately.
• Conduct regular teaching observations, faculty evaluations, and manage performance improvement initiatives.
• Resolve student instructional complaints efficiently to maintain academic quality and student satisfaction.
• Facilitate departmental meetings to promote open communication and collaborative decision-making.
• Supervise faculty recruitment, hiring, and credentialing processes, ensuring compliance with institutional and state requirements.
Academic Program Oversight and Compliance
• Direct and monitor activities related to Dual Credit, assessment, and program-specific facilities’ needs.
• Collaborate on the development of new degree and certificate programs through research and industry engagement.
• Ensure all CTE faculty maintain required ICTE credentials and industry certifications.
• Support faculty through accreditation and Technical Skills Assessment reporting processes.
Operational Management and Strategic Planning
• Oversee departmental budget planning and resource allocation in coordination with institutional leadership.
• Analyze student enrollment data to inform strategic decisions and improve program effectiveness.
• Review and recommend course fee adjustments and academic requirement exceptions in collaboration with the dean.
• Maintain accurate departmental records and ensure timely completion of administrative tasks and reporting.
Technology Integration and Network Support
• Collaborate with faculty and IT staff to support and troubleshoot the instructional IT network and virtual learning environment.
• Promote instructional innovation through the effective use of technology and digital resources.
• Ensure departmental technology needs are met in alignment with institutional goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Qualified to teach a course/courses offered within a program in the department and to be Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE) certified. For more information - IDCTE
• At least three years of demonstrated teaching excellence at the post-secondary level.
• Two years of leadership or supervisory experience. Leadership and supervisory experience in a post-secondary institution preferred.
• Experience in curriculum design, implementation, and oversight.
• Significant knowledge of or experience in a community college setting preferred.
• Experience developing and monitoring budgets preferred.
• Experience in problem-based learning, teaching with an array of distance learning technologies, teaching in blended learning formats, and online teaching preferred.
