Position Summary:

The College of Western Idaho is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach students in classroom and clinical settings in accordance with established policies and guidelines. This includes preparing students for working in operating room suites, assisting with the preparation of supplies (instrumentation, draping, etc.), and delivering care to surgical patients (skin preparation, positioning, dressing materials, specimen care, etc.).

Essential Functions:

• Teach contracted credit load of courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the CWI catalog
• Utilize outcomes assessment measures
• Participates in instructional evaluation processes
• Meet all scheduled classes promptly with any deviations promptly and accurately communicated through the appropriate channels
• Monitor and record student progress, maintain accurate records, and adhere to the College of Western Idaho’s deadlines for such procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Is a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification awarded by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBTSSA)
• 2 years of documented work experience in an operating room scrub role (may count documented work experience as a surgical technology instructor for 1 year of documented work experience) all within the last 5 years).
• Experience using instructional technology preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development
• Proficiency in the use of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and Blackboard applications
