Drive Strategic Storytelling as a Full-Time Content Strategy Manager at CWI! 

Are you a creative communicator with a passion for storytelling and strategic content development? The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking a Full-Time Content Strategy Manager to lead the creation and execution of compelling content that amplifies CWI’s mission, vision, and impact across diverse platforms.

Strategic Storytelling with Purpose: 

  • Define and execute a content roadmap aligned with CWI’s mission, vision, and messaging pillars 

  • Lead the development of written and visual stories that fuel marketing and communications efforts 

  • Curate, create, and review diverse content for internal and external platforms 

  • Collaborate with departments and subject matter experts to ensure brand alignment and strategic impact 

Impactful Work in Marketing & Communications: 

  • Partner with stakeholders to optimize content across owned channels for discoverability and engagement 

  • Identify cross-audience synergies and amplify key messages through environmental listening 

  • Capture and catalog visual assets to support written content and institutional storytelling 

  • Professionally photograph and produce visual content to complement messaging 

Collaborative & Growth-Oriented Environment: 

  • Supervise content team members and guide performance and development 

  • Analyze content performance to refine strategies and support lead generation 

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets at local, state, and national levels 

  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to proactively manage communications 

Key Responsibilities: 

Content Strategy & Creation 

  • Develop and execute strategic content plans 

  • Lead storytelling initiatives across platforms 

  • Ensure content clarity, relevance, and brand alignment 

Collaboration & Execution 

  • Work with internal teams and external partners 

  • Align content with SEO and institutional goals 

  • Manage visual asset creation and archiving 

Leadership & Analysis 

  • Supervise direct reports 

  • Analyze content performance metrics 

  • Support media relations and public engagement 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, media arts, or related field preferred 

  • 5+ years of experience in writing, editing, content creation, photography, and social media 

  • Experience managing staff and evaluating performance 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills 

  • Proficiency in CMS platforms and publishing tools 

  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication 

  • Experience with photo/video equipment and editing tools 

  • Aesthetic sensibility aligned with brand identity 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite 

  • Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours 

 

Additional Instructions For Applicants: 

Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
