This position is a full-time, temporary, grant funded position ending 12/31/25. If the grant funding is extended, there is a potential the position could be extended as well in 12-month intervals. The successful candidate hired for this position will provide responsible, independent secretarial support requiring independent interpretation of the policies and procedures of a major unit related work areas. The candidate will coordinate meetings and communications with research partners and team members. The candidate will assist with tracking grants and expenses for our unit. The anticipated start date for this position is March of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Satisfactory of two/three years of college or equivalent. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of work experience equals one year of education. At least two years prior work experience to include advanced bookkeeping, office supervisory responsibility, and public contact where tact and diplomacy are required. Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time. |

Under the general direction of the Director of Purchasing, manage purchasing orders and contracts, verifying required documentation, and perform contract management. Solicit requests for proposals (RFP) to provide goods and services to the University. Evaluate vendors, costs and services to obtain optimal value for the University. Identify opportunities for cost improvement on the goods and services procured by the University. Serve as Trainer for Purchasing modules and other training sessions as assigned. Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Knowledge and experience of Banner or another computerized purchasing system. 1-3 years of experience in purchasing and related functions. |

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Anthropology courses on the Big Rapids, MI campus. Needs vary from semester to semester and may include Introduction to Physical Anthropology, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and/or other Anthropology courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at Ferris State University's Big Rapids campus and potentially online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date is August 2025 or January 2026, based on department needs. Required: Master's degree in Anthropology; graduate coursework in Physical and/or Cultural Anthropology may apply for certain courses. Higher education teaching experience. |

Needs vary from semester to semester and may include introductory courses in World Regional Geography, Cultural Geography, Weather and Climate, Physical Geography, and GIS as well as upper-level courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at Ferris State University's Big Rapids campus and potentially online.
