Summary of Position: • Under the general direction of the Registrar or their designee.
• Coordinate the administrative duties and responsibilities of the Registrar’s Office and directly supervise clerical staff and associated duties.
• The Associate Registrar will review and provide guidance on curriculum proposals, and implement approved curriculum in Banner.

Required Education: • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or University.  
Required Work Experience: • Two years work experience in an office setting where data organization and accuracy and attention to detail are important.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: • Master’s Degree.
• Professional work experience in higher education, preferably within enrollment services or academic affairs.
• Professional experience with NCAA, especially eligibility regulations. Understanding and experience with student system software such as Banner.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Supervise, coordinate, train, discipline and evaluate Registrar's Office staff and provide back-up support when necessary.
• Advise staff, update office procedures, and create documentation to ensure consistent, equitable processing.
• Provide training and Banner support to campus community.
• Manage Registrar Office related processes such as graduation, total withdrawals, schedule adjustments, transcripts, verification, etc. Evaluate current practices and procedures to find efficiencies and work on special projects to execute.
• Create and maintain documentation outlining pertinent information and processing instructions.
• Oversee International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Articulated Credit, and CLEP credit entry and record retention processes.
• Create, test, implement and troubleshoot technical processes pertaining to the Banner system, Banner workflows and office website maintenance. Collaborate with programmers to develop necessary reports and improve processes utilized campus-wide.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs to review and implement curriculum.
• Serve as a Registrar’s Office representative on various committees.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable university, state, and federal policies and compliance regulations.
• Serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, students, other offices, and off-campus constituents.
• Serve as a certifying official of Ferris State for NCAA eligibility and as one of the University employees who are authorized to contact the NCAA.
• Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Collaborate with campus partners, course building requests, ensure compliance to matrix, and develop and maintain course scheduling training materials.
• Coordinate record restoration, assessment for prior learning credit, school code creation, study away credit, processing subpoenas, and other banner functions.
• Oversee special projects for Registrar Office systems, processes, and policies.
• Review curriculum & consult with University Curriculum Committees to facilitate proper implementation across Banner, catalog, and assessment software's.
• Train appropriate campus personnel in Banner Student, faculty & advisor self-serve, action item processing, Banner Workflow, and various registration and course scheduling functions.
• Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
• Perform any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
