| Summary of Position: |
The Student Teacher Supervisor serves as a liaison between the School of Education, Michigan partner schools, and teacher candidates during their apprenticeship or internship experience. The supervisor provides instructional coaching, conducts formal observations and evaluations, supports professional growth, and ensures that teacher candidates meet program, state, and accreditation requirements for licensure. The role emphasizes mentoring, reflective practice, and continuous improvement aligned with professional teaching standards.
The School of Education seeks candidates to supervise apprenticeship and internships in Michigan, with current needs in the northwest and southwest regions of the state. Candidates in other regions are invited to apply (indicate the desired region), in the event that we have needs in their area.
This is a pooled position. Additionally, one or more applicants may be hired to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis (as needs emerge). Such courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
The anticipated start date of these positions is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.
