Adjunct Instructor - Computer Information Systems Multiple Locations
The candidate will teach a broad spectrum of undergraduate Computer Information System classes as needed. Classes may include: programming (Java, Python, etc.), database design/ implementation/ administration, web development, systems analysis and design, and ERP (SAP) systems. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date is August 2025 at the earliest or January 2026 at the latest. Required: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, OR Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology. Candidates with appropriate certifications and relevant teaching experience are preferred. Three years of industry experience in IS or IT related field with direct experience in one of the areas to be taught.
Adjunct Instructor - Digital Media Multiple Locations
Ferris State University’s School of Digital Media invites applications for ongoing adjunct positions as needs arise within the School. The School of Digital Media (SDM) at Ferris offers Bachelor's degrees that seek to provide applied learning experiences for students through small class sizes and project-oriented coursework. We offer equipment and software-intensive learning experience throughout the school from the student’s freshman experience through graduation. Instructor/Assistant Professor of Graphic Design (Full-time term appointment, non-tenure track) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI, prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Full-time, term-appointment faculty members at KCAD teach 18 semester credit hours per academic year, typically 3 courses each fall and spring semester. As a KCAD faculty member, you will engage in three kinds of professional development: continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness, creative and/or scholarly contribution within your discipline, and a college service commitment that includes program, college, and community engagement for the advancement of KCAD’s mission. You will actively advise students regarding their academic plan and progress as well as their co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities. Adjunct Instructor - Technical Theatre Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Humanities Department seeks applications for instructors to teach one course per semester in Technical Theatre, in the Fall and/or Spring semesters. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired, as needed, to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis face-to-face and/or online. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities including keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participating in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. Assistant or Associate Professor - Mechanical Engineering Technology Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program, part of the School of Engineering and Computing Technologies (SECT), invites applications for a 9-month, tenured-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Primary responsibilities include preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met. Tenure at a previous institution is required to be hired at the rank of Associate Professor. Courses are primarily delivered face-to-face in the classroom/lab at the main campus in Big Rapids, although online delivery may be required for some courses. Additional responsibilities generally include advising students, internship coordination, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the university. Teaching at regional satellite campuses may also be required. Working with student organizations is highly encouraged. Faculty in MET are expected to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum, teaching both lower and upper undergraduate division courses in an ETAC/ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program. Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI, prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), evaluation of student performance, submission of final grades on the FSU Banner system, and archiving of both course material and student work as requested by the program chair and/or the Dean of the College. We are seeking a 3-year full-time temporary faculty member (9-month contract) to teach face-to-face in one or more of the following degree programs: Building Construction Technology AAS, Civil Engineering Technology AAS, Construction Management BS and Facilities Management BS. The role involves teaching lectures and/or labs in topics related to construction, facilities management, and virtual design and construction. Temporary faculty teaching AAS and/or BS level coursework involving Industrial, Electronics and Automation Technology. Typical subject matter includes DC / AC circuit analysis, Industrial Electronics, Motors and Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, Digital Systems, Electronic Devices and Sensors. Adjunct Instructor 1 - Architecture and Facility Management Multiple Locations
The Architecture and Facility Management Department seeks applications for a part-time, temporary faculty position. Responsibilities involve teaching one or more courses in the following degree programs: AAS in Architectural Technology, or BS in Architecture and Sustainability, or BS in Facility Management. In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in architectural design, construction detailing and documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, digital architectural presentation utilizing software such as Revit, Formit, Autodesk 3DS Max, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, and/or experience in Facility Management, will be considered. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Part-Time Service Golf Grounds Big Rapids, MI 49307
The position includes responsibilities of all areas of the golf course grounds operations that include; mowing, weed whipping, maintenance of the golf course, practice facility, short game areas, and clubhouse surrounds. Required: High School Diploma / GED.
