Join us in shaping the future of work health and safety
As we continue to grow our Health and Safety team, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Officer to help drive the development and implementation of safe systems of work across our operations. This is more than a behind-the-desk role — it’s about building real connections, supporting health initiatives, and championing a strong safety culture across HBF.

About the role
As our Health and Safety Officer, you’ll work closely with our Health and Safety Manager and team to;

  • Coordinate and improve our Work Health and Safety Management System (aligned to ISO 45001)
  • Support the rollout of safety policies, emergency response plans, and training programs
  • Keep accurate records of hazards, incidents, audits and risk assessments while coordinating meetings, training, and reporting that drive continuous improvement
  • Be our go-to for safety-related queries and communications
  • Champion initiatives that support the health and safety of our people

About you
You are organised, detail orientated and tech-savvy (particularly with Microsoft Office) with excellent administrative and coordination skills.

You are an effective communicator, someone who can explain safety in simple, clear ways as well as being a proactive team player willing to pitch in when required.

Your previous roles have helped you gain skills in a health and safety or administrative role and a strong understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation, standards, and contemporary safety practices. Completion or progression towards Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or similar) would set you up for success in this role.

Next steps
If you are passionate about supporting a safe and healthy workplace and want to be part of a team that values continuous improvement and collaboration, we’d love to hear from you.

At HBF, we don’t just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products, and our community. HBF is a place of belonging. We are proud of who we are, and we encourage applications from diverse groups such as Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people, physical ability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and family background, including caring responsibilities.
