We are looking for Relief Shift Supervisors to provide cover for Shift Supervisors on an as needed basis. You will retain your substantive position and will pick up adhoc Shift Supervisor shifts as required. This is an ‘as required’ relief position, providing short term backfill to ensure adequate shift supervision resourcing for yourtown’s 24/7 Virtual Services programs.

The position requires a minimum commitment of 48 hours per fortnight in your substantive counsellor position, working across the full 24/7 span of hours. Successful candidates must be open to roster changes to support shifts after midnight so that there is increased supervisor coverage alignment across the full 24/7 shift supervision roster, in line with service demand.

Relief Shift Supervisors provide backfill relief to support shift management and real time supervision 24/7 of practitioners working within yourtown’s Virtual Services across a range of programs and channels including voice, webchat and peer to peer support services including Kids Helpline, Parentline, My Circle and other programs that may be added as part of service development.

You will bring:

• tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years practice experience
• ability to work flexible across a 24 hour service, 7 days a week
• demonstrated operational experience in a human services environment
• demonstrated understanding of counselling frameworks and skills required when responding to people from diverse backgrounds
• demonstrated leadership qualities
• demonstrated high standard of performance in relation to working effectively and ethically in client safety and duty of care cases and with complex and case managed clients
• high level communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships to achieve successful outcomes
• high level computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering digital mental health interventions
• demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team

After submission of your application, you will receive a link to complete a one-way video interview. The video interview will take a maximum of 15 mins to complete.

The video interview is your opportunity to let the selection panel know why you are interested in the position and what you will bring to the role. You will have the option of retaking your video before submitting to the panel (max 3 takes). We are interested in hearing what you have to say, rather than how you perform over the video.

Applications will be shortlisted for the panel interview based on the application and the video interview. Please note, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to the panel interview.
