At LCRA, we are looking for a Network Infrastructure Architect Sr to join our team! As a part of LCRA’s Telecom Architecture team, your expertise will contribute to crafting on the Wide Area Network (WAN) Transport system that strives to improve the quality of life of the Texans we serve. You are someone with commanding knowledge of sophisticated routing protocols, industry best practices in network design, and can provide deliverable design documents to the organization. We are a team that thrives on finding solutions for WAN transport, communicating across the organization, and leading design for future growth. You will be trusted to:

- Develop methodologies, evaluations, and recommendations for system capacity planning and corresponding architecture changes due to capacity objectives.

- Support growth of external customer broadband and technology opportunities, including but not limited to network routing systems, DWDM technologies, p-LTE, cybersecurity, and firewalls.

- Use design, network management, and system operations expertise to create uniform solutions and approaches, with attention to long-term equipment management and overall network operability.

- Lead, develop and document recommendations for architecture standards within the network.

- Monitor and analyze the stability, interoperability, and availability of systems and provide architectural change recommendations to increase overall availability for mission and business-critical systems.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in designing, planning and/or troubleshooting large-scale enterprise networks, or other relevant experience. A degree in engineering, computer science, engineering technology, or a related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics.
- Expert knowledge of next-generation technology solutions including Cloud, DWDM, broadband, Terabit data networking, MPLS, Software Defined Networking, p-LTE Transport design
- Knowledge of infrastructure, including but not limited to, networking, operating systems, servers, and data centers
- Knowledge of industry best practices in the various aspects of IT, technology trends, security considerations, enterprise operations knowledge and the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with technical organizations and management teams
- Industry certifications regarding Enterprise and Technology Architecture concepts, tools, and practices preferred
- Broadband Core and Transport design experience preferred
- Utilities experience preferred
