ERCOT Settlement Analyst II

LCRA is looking for an ERCOT Settlement Analyst, this position will provide guidance on the development and implementation of settlement solutions that improve long-term competitiveness and ensure LCRA sets the standard for excellence. This role can expect to coordinate and perform sophisticated analyses, reporting and billing for ERCOT settlement transactions, and confirming regulatory compliance and protocols are adhered to. They will advise leadership and provide expertise in business improvement initiatives. This position requires niche depth and/or breadth of expertise in interpreting and recommending best practices. 

Our Energy Analyst Level ultimately hired will be based on relative skills and experience.

You will be trusted to:

- Collaborate with departmental teams and cross functional project teams in process development and planning to ensure strategic alignment with LCRA goals and objectives.
- Monitor regulatory and market changes and analyses the impact of potential changes to LCRA’s business operations. Understand market rules, protocols, business practices and sophisticated settlement calculations and its impact on the wholesale power business.
- Provide insight on ERCOT policy, protocols, and procedures that may affect the LCRA’s ability to perform the Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) function or have an impact on LCRA's wholesale electric customers’ costs.
- Establish and maintain processes that ensures LCRA settlements with ERCOT are analyzed, allocated and processed in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for detailed evaluation of ERCOT statements including internal meter data analysis to ensure appropriate payments to/from ERCOT. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of settlement procedures and documentation.
- Plan, implement, and monitor settlement systems and processes. Ensure solutions are coordinated with other departments.
- Occasionally participate in ERCOT stakeholder meetings, subcommittees, and working groups.
- Provide outstanding customer service while communicating settlements-related information to internal and external audiences, including ERCOT and wholesale electric customers.
- Be consistent with established departmental objectives, lead change by applying process improvement and operational excellence methodologies and aligning key collaborators to implement processes and programs that result in measurable improvements.

You qualify with:

- Six or more years’ experience in energy analytics or relevant experience. A degree(s) in business, economics, engineering, mathematics or a relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- Experience in VBA, SQL, Excel and other analytical tools
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong internal and external relationship skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
