Are you passionate about the great outdoors? At LCRA, we are seeking an Outdoor Recreation Supervisor at our McKinney Roughs Nature Park to spearhead our outdoor programs division. As the leader of this large team, you'll harness your expertise in leadership, strategic planning, training, and organizational management to drive the success of our recreation and education programs.

You will be trusted to:

- Plan and oversee experiential outdoor programs while evaluating and enhancing existing programs and facilities to take advantage of the latest trends in the outdoor recreation industry.
- Supervise programs staff, temporary workers, volunteers and seasonal staff. Hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates and manages performance, determines compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with human resources policies and handles all aspects of staff supervision.
- Develop training plans and risk management plans and goals related to all programs directed at achieving LCRA's safety goals. Ensures employees attend required training and maintain required licenses, certifications, and trainings.
- Help maintain outdoor recreation department budget(s). Prepares reports and operational forecasts based on knowledge of upcoming purchases and expenditures in the programs department.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of equipment (e.g., watercraft, program equipment, safety and rescue equipment, etc.) in accordance with LCRA safety policies and procedures.

You qualify with:

- Six or more years’ experience in commercial recreation operations, the travel and hospitality industry, adventure programs, experiential education or other relevant experience including at least one year of leadership experience. A bachelor’s degree in business management, parks and recreation administration, hospitality management or other relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Basic First Aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certifications must be obtained within 45 days of employment.
