LCRA is looking for a Field Supervisor to join our team in the West service area San Angelo Texas. At an expert level, performs construction and maintenance duties using test equipment to evaluate, maintain equipment condition such as high voltage transformers, circuit breakers, etc. used in transmission and distribution substations. This position requires niche depth and/or breadth of expertise. Interprets business issues and recommends best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects Progression to this level is limited based on business requirements. Coordinates and directs activities of teams of transmission electricians, construction workers
high line workers and/or heavy equipment operators engaged in work related to the construction and
maintenance of energized transmission lines and substations. Monitors day to day operations of the equipment and systems in assigned areas. Provides safety leadership

Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to work group. Monitors work and project completion.
Schedules personnel and equipment needed for ongoing and special projects. Makes provisions to keep work unit fully staffed. Ensures that workers who operate LCRA-owned or rented equipment are properly trained in the safe and proper use of the equipment. Conducts performance evaluations and handle performance-related issues. Gives feedback to employees on quality and quantity of work produced. Provides instruction and training as needed. Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. Provides input into budgeting process, pay actions, and other employment decisions, equipment replacement and/or repair, and decisions pertaining to effectiveness of work group efforts. Participates in work activities when safety provisions allow.
• Provides oversight and coordination of both internal and external construction and maintenance crews, to include hire, and disciplinary authority for all crewmembers in his/her reporting line.
• Provides safety leadership. Ensures safety procedures and policies are adhered to for all crew members, contractors, and members of the public in relation to any project under his/her direction.
Takes responsibility to ensure employees are working safely. Coordinates and supervises weekly safety meetings, and attends/participates in monthly safety meetings.
• Ensures that all reporting crews operate effectively, to include material deliveries, optimizing and assigning crew schedules, contracting external entities, and quickly escalating larger issues.
• Provides reporting on status of crews assigned to project work.
• Audits jobs both during and post construction to ensure that industry guidelines, regulatory requirements and company standards are followed.
• Responds to requests for technical and construction assistance on design criteria, technical application, as well as financial planning, project management and design.
• Responsible for the safety of construction and maintenance crew, as well as contractors and members of the public in relation to any project under his/her direction.
• Makes recommendations to engineering concerning equipment layout, design improvements and maintenance requirements. Verifies engineering drawings for operational integrity and accuracy.
• Develops statement or work cost estimates. Monitors and tracks job costs and time charged. Plans projects to ensure availability of material and resources cost effectiveness, and efficient use of personnel. May serve as point of contact for customers, vendors, and/or the general public.
• May oversee contract resources.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair, including one year of leadership responsibilities. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license
