At LCRA, we are looking for a Power System Protection Engineer to join our team! As a part of LCRA's Transmission Protection and Metering team, your primary tasks will be to develop design drawings for LCRA TSC metering projects as well as develop relay and meter panel standard design templates. You will also be asked to be a mentor and leader to teammates. A top candidate with 4-15 years of system protection experience is preferred. *This is a hybrid position based on business needs, working in Austin, TX at least 2 days per week with the option to work 3 days remotely.

You will be trusted to:

- Develop standard panel design templates for Protection and Metering panels
- Develop designs for new meter installations and meter replacements
- Coordinate with ERCOT for EPS metering and NOIE registration
- Assist with ERCOT compliance and audits
- Investigate issues with metering/billing

You qualify with:

- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas  
- Driver's license

You are a great fit with:

- Experience in electrical protection and control design (e.g. relay one-line diagrams, DC schematics, etc)
- Experience in power system apparatus (e.g. circuit breakers, circuit switchers, fuses, transformers, etc)
- Experience with IEC 61850 standard for protection and control
- Familiarity with ERCOT protocols and guidelines
- Experience in software programming (e.g. VBA, Python, etc)
- Ability to have an attention to detail, being a team player, desire to learn new tasks, willing to take initiative on tasks, questioning attitude and a desire for continuous improvement.
