At LCRA, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team.! As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and design teams by providing technical expertise, guidance, and hands-on support in the development and implementation of engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to take on a leadership position and contribute to the success of our organization. You will be trusted to:
- Use computer-aided design software and equipment, prepares detailed, complex engineering diagrams, schematics, working drawings and layout drawings from concept or provided materials. - Make determinations related to scaling, reference plans, dimensioning, hidden lines, interpolations and sectioning positional relationships. - Clearly indicate revisions. - File drawings and drawing update documentation according to standard procedures. - Develop moderately complex technical design concepts related to engineering by working from notes, sketches, oral instructions and discussions with design originators. - Interpret engineering designs for compliance with and conformance to established specifications, requirements and standards. - Visit proposed installation sites and draws rough sketches of these locations. - Create and maintains other indices and files relating to department operations. - Coordinate routing of and track's location of various documents, drawings and prints. - Maintain and ensures control of engineering documents. - Identify discrepancies and errors. Initiates actions needed to resolve discrepancies and correct errors. - Assist with quality assurance and quality control of engineering documents.

You qualify with:
- Six or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software; performing engineering design or other relevant experience. A degree in computer-aided design, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license if traveling independently to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.)
You are a great fit with:
- Knowledge of electronic document management system (Meridian) - Advanced skill in computer-aided drafting principles, standards, and techniques - Advanced skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints - Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, spreadsheets, etc.) - Skill in reading and interpreting technical information - Skill in verbal and written communication - Skill in operating plotters, printers, copiers and scanners - Ability to perform accurate data entry - Ability to work in a team environment
