Transmission Learning & Development is looking for an established learning specialist to coordinate and carry out the daily activities of our field operations training programs. We currently have five apprenticeships and are looking for the right candidate to help us improve existing programs and build new ones! In this role, you will support our dedicated Transmission field employees and help meet their training needs through various means. You will be trusted to partner with leadership and subject matter experts to identify gaps in business performance and deliver meaningful training solutions. Daily activities include designing and keeping our annual training calendar, working with our training vendors to schedule upcoming trainings, partnering with management and SMEs to design new training opportunities, as well as handling all field training activities in our learning management systems. You will be trusted to:
- Collaborate with field operations leadership to understand learning needs and lead efforts to develop training solutions and initiatives that align with LCRA’s companywide strategies and objectives. - Partner with leadership to build, promote, and deliver engaging and relevant training solutions to develop the necessary competencies across crews. - Carry out the day-to-day training coordination activities for Transmission's field operations. - Serve as the team's administrator for our learning management systems and training databases to support learners' training progress and overall training operations. - Support the monitoring and evaluation of training programs to ensure maximum effectiveness. - Identify effective delivery mechanisms for learning solutions (e.g., classroom, web-based, blended learning). - Assist with maintaining the learning and development program budget. - Coordinate with external vendors who deliver training to LCRA employees.

You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in companywide and/or operational training and development programs or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in human resource management, business administration, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license

- Previous experience working in a technical industry designing, developing, and delivering learning and development programs. - Experience with Quality Training Databases (QTD) & learning management systems. - Advanced communication skills, including verbal and written across organizations. - Skill in forming relationships with employees at all levels of organizations establishing credibility, trust, and partnership. - Skilled in implementing standard processes and incorporating current trends in a practical manner that fits the organization's requirements. - Customer Service minded - Skill in developing and maintaining relationships and networks with a diverse group of collaborators to achieve business objectives. - Skill in providing oversight and maintaining effective internal controls. - Skill in effectively handling opposing priorities and collaborating with multiple groups to find a solution. - Intermediate skill level in office efficiency applications (i.e., email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.). - Advanced presentation and public speaking skills. - Ability to adapt to changing business and regulatory environments. - Ability to work with a team and foster teamwork. - Ability to act in an ethical manner at all times and maintain confidentiality.
