At LCRA, we are looking for a Transmission Outage and Schedule Coordinator Sr. to join our team! As a part of LCRA's Transmission Construction planning and estimating team, your primary task at a senior level is to review, coordinate and submit all assigned LCRA TSC and customer transmission voltage system outage requests to the System Operations Control Center (SOCC) for ERCOT approval- typically working on a portfolio of capital projects. This position applies in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve our services. You will have the opportunity to provide a new perspective to tackle complex problems, work independently with minimal guidance, act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may direct the work of other staff members as needed. Job duties include estimating capital projects, AJD’s and all other related transmission (TSC) projects.

You will be trusted to:

- Ensure the collaboration between the project management office (PMO), maintenance, construction, functional management groups and SOCC regarding outage requests and scheduling.

- Review and coordinate construction, maintenance and customer project transmission voltage outage requests. Make recommendations to various groups regarding scheduling to best coordinate with other groups and projects.

- Prepare and submit documentation to SOCC for system review and scheduling approval with ERCOT.

- Identify technical aspects of projects that require coordination between the PMO and functional management at project start-up.

- Ensure documentation for best practices regarding outage requests and cancellations to ensure that LCRA TSC meets ERCOT’s highest approval rating level.

- Provide technical expertise during the engineering project team design review of all future transmission projects.

- Perform work by traveling independently or with other staff to various locations as necessary in order to gather technical and operational project information.

- Serve on various internal committees. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

- Develop and deliver various reports and presentations to management, staff and other stakeholders.

- Conduct daily and weekly planning meetings to coordinate work plans and schedule maintenance activities with supervisors and management to prioritize work activities; make recommendations to ensure maximum efficiency of ongoing operations.

- Receive and maintain records of work orders; estimate costs for labor, materials, parts and equipment and ensure their availability. Develop job/work scope for contractors.

- Work with project and supervisory personnel to determine any special instructions or considerations involving timeliness and/or availability of crews.

- Maintain records, execute computer programs and issue reports as directed to ensure equipment and systems are systematically maintained, and accurate information is communicated to project managers, supervisors, or others directly involved in carrying out work plans.

- Assist with budget development and maintenance by providing reports upon request. Work with management and project managers by keeping them apprised of variances.

- Buy equipment, material and services using ProCard in accordance with approved Supply Management processes and procedures, review and sign off on all invoices for assigned areas up to approved limit.

- In accordance with approved Supply Management processes and procedures, evaluate bids, recommend best evaluated bidders and develop letters of recommendation for management approval.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in operations, maintenance or engineering related to high voltage transmission lines and substations, or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in engineering, electrical power theory or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
