At LCRA, we are looking for a Desktop Support Technician to support our employees computer needs. As a part of LCRA’s Digital Services team, your expertise will help support an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. At an intermediate level, you will provide second- and third-tier technical computer support, such as configuration, installation and fixing computer hardware and software. Provide support to IT users for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based software. Provide back up support for audio/visual support, located in Austin LCRA service area. Participate in the testing and evaluation of new systems and applications. Support mobile work force. Document solutions to problems and develop end-user guidelines. This position requires knowledge and experience in understanding an enterprise environment but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.
You will be trusted to:
- Perform intermediate computer hardware, software and peripheral, installations, and configurations (i.e. monitors, keyboards, scanners, disk drives, etc.). - Provide computer imaging of Windows and Apple Devices. - Perform installation, configuration, maintenance and support of printers - Provide Audio/visual technical support for meeting rooms occasionally - Respond to incidents concerning computer operation and remediate hardware, software issues - Provide updates, status and completion information to supervisor and users via Microsoft Teams, e-mail, phone, or in-person. Update problem call tracking system. - Perform troubleshooting of connectivity problems such as LAN connections, WiFi, Bluetooth, air-cards, VPN connections and serial communications. - Perform hardware asset inventory control procedures. - Serve as a technical resource on project teams. - Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, meeting facilities, etc.) as scheduled.

You qualify with:
- Four or more years of experience in providing technology customer service, supporting client computer hardware, client computer software or peripherals such as mobile devices or audio/visual technology or other relevant experience. - A degree(s) in computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license
