LCRA is looking for a SCADA EMS Administrator to join our team. As a part of LCRA’s Transmission Technical Support Group (TSG), your expertise will contribute to our grid operation engineering support and analytical tools development in an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. We are a team that thrives on finding effective and innovative ways to support our customers or partners in the control rooms and onsite substations, and beyond. This position is responsible for managing SCADA & Alarms models & EMS displays and working on RTU configure and checkout testing, etc.

You will be trusted to:

- Configures and sets up alarms, limits, ratings, and calculated points in EMS consistent with Transmission Engineering and Transmission Operations and EMS Technical Support's methodologies.
- Provides data from EMS database by writing basic SQL queries.
- Manages user's access to EMS databases and EMS User Interface.
- Supports adding/modifying/removing remote terminal units (RTUs) in the Energy Management System (EMS) database in conjunction with work happening in the field using EMS specific processes.
- Create and update SCADA Substation One-Line Displays

You qualify with:

- Six or more years of experience in the respective focus area or relevant experience. 
- A degree(s) in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

- Experience updating databases and writing SQL queries to extract data
- Knowledge of substation field devices (RTUs)
- Knowledge of electrical equipment at substations (e.g. breakers, bus, switch, line, etc.)
- Knowledge of RTU protocols (DNP, Harris)
- Familiarity with display building software like AutoCAD  
- Knowledge of UNIX, shell and/or Windows-based programming
- Skill in debugging programs
- Skill in interpreting users' needs and developing solutions to solve users' problems
- Skill in programming using Java, C/C++ , Python and PL/SQL programming
