Join Environmental Affairs team at LCRA as a Junior Environmental Coordinator for the Environmental Permitting and Compliance team! Dive into supporting environmental geology and hydrogeology investigations, groundwater monitoring, solid waste management, closure, and remediation projects. This role offers a chance to master waste management rules and policies, craft regulatory filings, and develop environmental plans. This is an opportunity to collaborate closely with senior staff to address complex challenges and provide compliant, customer-centric solutions. You will be trusted to:

- Manage environmental permitting and compliance for environmental geology, hydrogeology and solid waste management projects throughout Texas both directly and by working with or managing outside consultants.
- Ensure compliance with the EPA and TCEQ Coal Combustion Residuals rules, Texas Risk Reduction Program, RCRA Industrial Solid Waste Classification and Management, Texas Spill Rules, Underground Injection Control Well rules, and Texas Railroad Commission rules.
- Review and comment on rules proposed by regulating agencies.
- Perform site assessments, including environmental impact and risk assessments of current and proposed facility operations and activities.
- Perform environmental inspections, environmental compliance audits and release/spill investigations.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies and local governments as necessary and participate in external professional associations.

You qualify with:

- Six or more years of experience in assessment, interpretation, implementation or administration of environmental regulations, programs, policies or other relevant experience, including experience with preparing technical reports and communicating with regulatory agencies. 
- A degree(s) in environmental science, chemistry, wildlife biology, geology, ecological management, conservation science, business, engineering, risk management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.  
- Driver's license

You are a great fit with:

- Texas P.G. license or the ability to acquire it.
- Experience with site investigations and/or remediation including soil and groundwater sampling.
- Experience at fossil fuel and/or coal-fired power generation facilities
