The Dam & Hydro team is hiring a Mechanical and Operational Supervisor! This leadership role is crucial to the success of LCRA’s mission. In this role, you will oversee the daily operation & mechanical maintenance/repairs of 13 hydro generation units & dam infrastructure, while working in and around high voltage equipment in a power plant environment. As supervisor, you will manage an assigned crew and ensure all scheduled work is completed safely and also support River Operations during flood events in the Lower Colorado River Basin, through flood gate operations. If you are looking for a role that allows you to lead, coordinate and direct daily activities of skilled Mechanical & Operations craft personnel at the six Highland Lakes Dam’s, then we have the opportunity for you! NOTE: Position schedule Mon-Fri from 7am-3:30pm. Schedule may change to support operational needs and will require coordination of call-out activities.
You will be trusted to:
- Lead the Dam and Hydro mechanical team as a technical expert and assist in coordination of facility operations, including emergency response. - Identify and provide training to the mechanical team. - Review scheduled Mechanical & Operational work orders with crew(s) daily and review safety requirements or concerns for each scheduled job. Utilize Maximo (CMMS) to monitor completion of complex and detailed repairs, installation and maintenance of equipment in assigned areas. - Work with scheduling functions to develop an available employee-hour forecast for all scheduling periods to include tracking upcoming annual leave, sick leave, training, meetings, etc. so that all available employee hours can be scheduled. - Communicate regularly with crew members to ensure they are informed of all pertinent LCRA and Dam & Hydro plant related information in an accurate and timely manner. - Monitor and track individual employee safety & quality performance and provides regular feedback to employees. Conduct formal performance reviews as required. - Assist in developing and tracking appropriate metrics to improve work processes and will use this data to help make decisions. - Partner with safety, environmental, engineering, construction, supply chain, and other business units and departments in support of organizational goals. - Perform operational site-lead role during flood & weather events.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in power plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or other relevant experience. - A degree(s) in power generation, engineering, business, science, math or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license

- Proven track record of leadership and creating an environment of employee involvement and continuous improvement. - Experience in developing and tracking budgets and metrics - Experience in maintenance planning principles, including work package development and PM development. - Experience in developing and implementing CMMS processes. - Experience with Maximo is a plus. - Proven track record of leading change and in developing and executing strategies to support change.
