LCRA’s Communications team seeks a motivated student eager to explore employee communications and external affairs through a strategic lens. You'll gain hands-on experience developing employee engagement content, navigating stakeholder relationships and amplifying our organizational story across multiple channels. You will be trusted to:
- Content Development Support: Assist in creating strategic plans and communications materials including intranet content, emails and website content while learning to meet professional deadlines and quality standards - Community Engagement Support: Assist with planning and execution of LCRA’s annual, company-wide volunteer event, Steps Forward Day - Team Collaboration: Support communications planning by participating in team meetings, contributing ideas for outreach strategies, and assisting with project execution under supervision - Learning and Development: Engage in cross-training opportunities across communications teams including web, design, photography/videography and social media - Research and Fact-Checking: Conduct background research on key topics, gather supporting information for communications projects, and help inform the development of messaging strategies
You qualify with:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent. - Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in junior year or has completed junior year and will be starting senior year.
You are a great fit with:
- Skill in verbal and written communication - Attention to detail - Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment - Ability to balance competing and high-priority work demands - Experience using office productivity applications (i.e., email, Word, Excel, etc.) - Degree path in communications, journalism, public relations, public policy, political science, graphic design or similar disciplines Willing to consider sophomore applicants.
