We, the Line Operations group at LCRA, are looking for a High Line Worker to join our team! This position is based out of our Eastern Maintenance Facility in La Grange, TX. This role is open to all candidates from apprentice lineman through journeyman, and individuals will be selected for a grade commensurate with their experience. In this role, you would help us in our mission to improve the lives of Central Texas. You will be trusted to:

- Perform various tasks in constructing, maintaining, and/or repairing of electric transmission lines. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May direct the work of other staff members in the supervisor’s absence as necessary.
- Perform routine, standard and complex tasks associated with all aspects of the construction or maintenance and repair of transmission lines (e.g. overhaul and inspection of lines and installing lines).
- Operate and maintain equipment such as bucket trucks, boom trucks, winch trucks, etc., used in performing aerial work.
- Assist the supervisor with planning and performing jobs. Act in the supervisor’s absence as necessary.
- Perform live-line maintenance with hot-sticks on energized transmission lines.
- Interpret and follow all safety, environmental and departmental policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Communicate with management, customer and landowners through both verbal and written methods.
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, transmission lines, etc.) as scheduled.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to less-experienced team members. Use leadership skills to lead others and effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time in support of the supervisor and in lieu of the supervisor.

You qualify with:

- Four or more years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line construction or maintenance work or related field involving work at heights or relevant experience.
- Class A Texas commercial driver’s license



You are a great fit with:

- Knowledge of transmission construction and/or maintenance operations
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operations
- Skill in communicating effectively with team members, supervision/management, landowners and external organizations under normal and emergency conditions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to train others and communicate complex information to less experienced personnel
- Ability to climb wood and steel structures up to extreme heights
- Familiarity with work that involves 24-hour emergency call-out
