Essential Job Functions: 1. Oversees fundraising and engagement communications campaigns for the Alumni Association and Annual Fund

2. Responsible for the strategy and execution of NSU’s signature ALL IN and Giving Tuesday campaigns including solicitation of gifts from segmented groups through digital communications, email, and direct mail

3. Creates custom annual fund campaign web pages to promote both university and college-specific appeals; identifies industry trends to maximize impact and dollars raised

4. Provides oversight for NSU crowdfunding campaigns including all projects with student organizations and faculty/staff/alumni campaigns.

5. Works with alumni engagement staff (FCESCJ, Law, and CCE) to identify opportunities for targeted appeals and alumni engagement opportunities. Provides additional insight to all units/colleges to meet annual fund and alumni goals

6. Develops alumni e-newsletters and interactive databases for alumni, web portals and pages, and online flash appeals to increase levels of engagement from alumni; sends mass emails to alumni and manages alumni story highlights

7. Coordinates special events and solicitation mailings including design, list request and review, direct mailing, and emails. Designs electronic and hard copy appeals as well as event invitations and assists in the creation of solicitation designs for annual fund

8. Leads all social media and communications efforts for the NSU Alumni Association and Annual Fund; plans, writes, creates and executes content that drives online alumni engagement

9. Provides support to the Assistant Vice President to develop presentations, invitations, letters, proposals and solicitations for fundraising campaigns and special projects

10. Serves as a supportive member of the Advancement team on various fundraising campaigns, cultivation and special events. Also serves as an NSU representative at alumni functions and meetings on evenings and on weekends.

11. Develops and implements engagement strategies to assist alumni regional and degree-based alumni chapters through targeted strategies, webinars, and communications

12. Coordinates and communicates roles and activities for alumni involvement in student recruiting efforts and mentoring initiatives

13. Serves as brand ambassador for NSU

14. Performs other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
2. Communications and Media - General knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media.
3. Digital Media - General knowledge of digital media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via digital, web, and social media.
4. Marketing - General knowledge of principles and methods for describing and promoting programs and services in order to achieve desired outcomes.
5. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
6. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
1. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

3. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
5. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.

Required Experience: Five (5) to Seven (7) of experience in social media, development, public relations, and/or fundraising.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in development and/or alumni relations at a higher education institution.
2. Master’s Degree preferred
3. Experience with relational databases.
