| Essential Job Functions: | 1. Monitors and supports the activities of students, employees and teaching assistants to ensure that standard policies and practices are followed; enforces all lab safety protocols. Participates in appropriate training and supports students and faculty on proper handling of hazardous materials and disposal procedures. 2. Prepares laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure that all necessary elements and tools are readily available and in good working condition. 3. Cleans, maintains, and prepares supplies and work areas. Performs routine maintenance tasks on laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure their proper functioning. This may involve cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting equipment issues. 4. Sets up, adjusts, calibrates, cleans, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory and field equipment. 5. Orders, monitors and inventories materials, chemicals, and supplies to ensure uninterrupted lab operations. 6. Provides training and assistance in the use of equipment to ensure efficient usage. 7. Provides and maintains a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory or plant safety audits. 8. Collaborates with faculty and staff to identify opportunities to stay updated on new techniques, technologies, and regulations. 9. Completes special projects as assigned. 10. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |

| Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge: 1. Biology - Basic knowledge of animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other. 2. Chemistry - Basis knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations. This includes chemical interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. 3. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 4. Active Learning - Basic skills in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. 11. Judgment and Decision Making - Basic skills in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the appropriate one. 12. Speaking - Basic skills in talking to others to convey information effectively. 13.
