Essential Job Functions: 1. Assists management in the daily operations of the Student Funds Disbursement Area to ensure compliance with Federal Title IV regulations, state statutes, and institutional policies.

2. Coordinates year-end closing and audit-related tasks and formulating schedules.

3. Maintains, prepares, and coordinates Loan Disbursement, General Accounting, and Loan Operations offices with the unclaimed property process for unused Title IV and other financial aid funds in compliance with federal Title IV and state regulations. Assists the General Accounting Office in the settlement of unclaimed property for non-financial aid funds.

4. Coordinates special processes, events, trainings, departmental updates, and deadlines to ensure alignment of processes within the departments in order to meet departmental goals and deadlines.

5. Provides support to the Bursar's Office, with special projects (e.g., daily or monthly reconciliations, reports and system updates).

6. Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting student loan eligibility, disbursement processing, and distribution requirements in compliance with Department of Education federal regulations and state regulations and statutory requirements.

7. Assists Bursar's departments with loan refunds during peak periods.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Travels to and participates in job related meetings, conferences, and workshops.

2. Assist the Director of the Bursar, and/or ESS senior management with special projects and assignments.

3. Oversees the daily process submissions in the absence of Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

2. Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations.

3. Excellent project management skills to effectively prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.

4. Ability to work independently and as a team member.

5. Ability to pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines.

6. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

7. Understanding the University environment and the ability to effectively communicate knowledge.

8. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

9. Excellent problem solving skills.

10. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duties and responsibilities.

11. Ability to gather, compile, and prepare data for report presentations.

12. Ability to work flexible hours in the evenings, weekends, and school closures as necessary.

13. Ability to work in a Microsoft Window-based environment using various software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), including running Access reports.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include, but not limited to, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc.

5. May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and, on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Associate's Degree or 60 College credits
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Three (3) years of financial related work experience in on office environment.

2. Two (2) years of customer service experience working with the public.


Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, finance, or accounting.

2. Minimum of three (3) years of finance and/or accounting experience working in student accounts/funds disbursement/collections in a Higher Education institution.

3. Knowledge of Banner systems.

4. Familiarity with student loan programs.

5. Experience performing bank reconciliation, fund management, or government reporting.

6. Proficiency in MS Office software, including database management and Access Report design.
