Essential Job Functions: | 1. Protects the institution by assuring that proposals and awards are in compliance with federal, state, agency and institution policies of grants and contracts. Provides consultation and technical assistance services to faculty and staff regarding obtaining and managing sponsored awards, with emphasis on NSU internal grant programs. 2. Establishes and maintains official electronic files for applications for funding and also for award management. 3. Serves as a liaison between funding agencies and faculty and staff. 4. Assists faculty and staff with sponsor forms and documentation, budget preparation and revisions. 5. Works closely with other university offices (e.g. Contract and Grant Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, Budget, Procurement, Risk Management, Institutional Advancement, etc.) 6. Serves as a resource to faculty and staff for identifying funding opportunities; submitting proposals, reports, and/or requests to external sponsors; and interpreting regulations, terms and conditions, policies, and other specific and general guidelines in sponsored program administration. 7. Participates in and facilitate outreach efforts for faculty and staff. 8. Performs other related duties, as assigned. |
Marginal Job Functions: | 1. Attends research administration workshops, conferences, trainings, etc. 2. Performs special projects as assigned by the Associate Director and Director. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | 1. Proficiency with MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, and/or other word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. 2. Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced, high stress environment with precision and accuracy. 3. Knowledgeable of federal and non-federal regulations and policies relating to sponsored programs. 4. Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills 5. Demonstrated ability to apply information from multiple sources to make informed decisions. |

Required Experience: | Three (3) years of relevant work experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Master's Degree and/or CRA certification. 2. Experience in research administration. 3. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional. |
